 <note>Objective: To identify factors related with the incidence of dengue shock syndrome (DSS) in children with dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) in the Regional General Hospital Labuang Baji Makassar. Methods: Descriptive analytic cross-sectional design. The samples were all patients of dengue hemorrhagic fever and dengue shock syndrome, which is recorded in the medical record books hospitalized in January 2014 until December 2014. Taken by using total sampling technique and data obtained from medical records, and analyzed with Chi Square. Results: The number of samples involved in this study were 115 patients. Most of the samples were aged 5-9 years as many as 50 children (43.5%), female 61 children (53%), vaginal birth history were 105 mothers (91.3%), which has an abnormal leukocyte levels were 96 children (83.5), who had higher levels of normal erythrocytes by 77 children (67.0%), hematocrit levels were 58 children (50.4%), which has a normal hemoglobin level 12-16 g / dl as many as 83 children (72.2%), and which has a value of platelets&gt; 50,000 mm3 are 84 children (73.0%). Conclusion : There is the relation of relationship and content platelet between gender of children dengue shock syndrome in children with dengue dengue.
