There are several factors that effect learning achievement, including factors from within a person (internal) and outside factors (external). The internal factors are physical health, intelligence, motivation, interest and personality. Personality is characteristic of a person feeling, thinking, behave and adapt itself to environment. The purpose of this study was to determine the corellation of personality type with learning achievement of medical student Muhammadiyah Makassar University class of 2011. The study design was analytic crosss sectional approach. Sampling technique used was total sampling. The result of kolmogorov smirnov test showed theres is a relationship between personality types A and types B with academic achievement (p value = 0,000). The conclusion of this study was most of students had type A personality. Keywords : personality, academic achievement, student.
