 <note>BACKGROUND: Hypertension is the main cause of the dead with an impact in
cardiovascular, such as heart attack and stroke. It has been approximation causing
4,5% of the disease burden in global and the prevalency equals in developing country
neither in progressing country.
OBJECTIVE: This research is to know the relation of nutritional status and the
hypertension in health centers kassi-kassi rappocini subdistrict, Makassar in 2013.
METHOD: The research design was cross sectional with the total subjects are 87
people from the population of medical patients in health centers kassi-kassi rappocini
subsdistrict, Makassar in 2013. This research was doing from December 2013 –
February 2014. The respondent tooks by using convience sampling. Nutritional status
has deciding as the undependent variable while the blood preassure as the dependent
variable. The ruskt of the statistic test that used was chi-square test.
RESULT: Based on the IMT, the prevalency obesity were 67,8% whule the
prevalency 75,9% the result of the bivariat test shows a significant relation between
the variable that had been researched namely nutritional status and the hypertension.
CONCLUSION: There is a relation between nutritional status with the blood
preassure on the medical patient health centers kassi-kassi rappocini subdistrict,
Makassar in 2013.
